Message from the District Deputy Grand Master
Welcome to the Toronto Don Valley District Masons website.
Toronto Don Valley District is within the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Canada in the Province of Ontario. The District comprises of 19 Lodges that are resident either in the Thornhill Masonic Temple or the York Masonic Temple. Our membership is approximately 2000 strong and consists of a diverse group individuals ranging in age from the 20’s to the 90’s and of many different cultures and vocations.
Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world. Its members share a common goal of helping each other become better men. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, faith, country, and fraternity. Masons are spiritual and moral men who choose to associate with a group of like-minded individuals for mutual benefit. What they find in freemasonry is a disciplined and systematic course of self-improvement.
The mantra within the District this year is “No Brother left behind” and will be one of the guiding principles for the individual Committee’s as they work at performing their respective duties.
In the immortal words of Mahatma Gandhi:
Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Right Worshipful Brother Joe DeMello
